Data Use & Privacy Policy for WhatsApp Bot Users

Applies to: Students and Guardians or users engaging with the Apprenticeship Facilitation Bot (“The Bot”- can also add the name here i.e. Chatur AI) operated by the RightWalk Foundation via WhatsApp
1. Purpose
This WhatsApp-based bot is developed by RightWalk Foundation to help students access information and support for registration under the Apprenticeship program. It is designed to simplify the process and make it accessible to all eligible youth. It is solely intended to support program facilitation and will never be used for promotional targeting, commercial profiling, or unrelated communication.
2. Data We Collect
We collect this information only with your consent, and only what is necessary to support your application and progress. The data you provide voluntarily may include:
- Name, age, gender
- Mobile number
- Educational qualification
- Location (district/block/village)
- Any documents or photos you choose to share
We only collect the minimum required data to support your application and track progress.
Please note: This bot operates through WhatsApp, which has its own data processing policies. RightWalk Foundation does not access your other WhatsApp data.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used only for:
- Helping you apply for the Apprenticeship program
- Verifying eligibility and progress
- Sending you relevant updates, reminders, and support messages
- Improving our services through aggregated, non-personal analysis
We will never:
- Sell, rent, share, or misuse your personal data
- Use your data for commercial advertising
Profile you for purposes beyond this program.
4. Data Security & Privacy
- Your data is stored in secure, access-controlled environments
- Where applicable, data transmission is encrypted.
- We retain your data only for as long as required for program purposes or as mandated by law.
- We follow the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023, and other applicable Indian laws.
- If third-party service providers (e.g., WhatsApp APIs) are involved, we ensure they comply with Indian Data Protection Standards.
- Any data shared with government departments is done only for official program processing and never for any commercial use.
5. Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Know what data we collect and how it is used
- Correct or update any inaccurate data
- Withdraw consent and request deletion
- File a grievance if you feel your data is being misused
