About RightWalk Foundation
RightWalk Foundation partners with state and central governments to improve the implementation of welfare schemes by shaping and executing public policies. We work across the policy value chain—advocacy, governance, capacity building, and implementation—strengthening state systems for lasting impact. Our focus areas include education, livelihood, and health across five key Indian states. Through the RTE Act, we have enabled one million children to access education, aiming to lift 10 million households from poverty. Using a systems-thinking approach, we drive policy-level reforms while ensuring meaningful grassroots interventions for sustainable social change.

Help a Child to Complete Their Education
Why?
The Right to Education (RTE) Act ensures free education up to Class 8 in private schools for children from economically weaker sections. However, after Class 8, they face an uncertain future—many regress to low-tier government schools or drop out due to unaffordable private school fees. This undermines the very purpose of the RTE Act. To address this, RightWalk launched the RTE Scholars Fund, bearing the full education costs for students from Class 9 to Class 12. In the long run, we advocate for policy changes to extend RTE benefits until the intermediate level, ensuring uninterrupted education and brighter futures.
What?
The RTE Scholars Fund aims to provide financial assistance to children who need support to continue their education. Under this fund, selected beneficiaries receives full tuition fees, travel expenses—especially girl students—and financial aid for uniforms and books. To ensure effective implementation, we work closely with schools to monitor and track the progress of beneficiary students regularly. Through this initiative, we aim to remove financial barriers to education, empowering children from economically weaker sections to complete their schooling and build a brighter future.
How?
RightWalk Foundation identifies eligible beneficiaries and suitable schools, ensuring the best educational match for each child.
The scholarship is distributed through Flexible Value School Vouchers and Fixed Value Parent Vouchers.
School Vouchers are assigned based on actual school fees and the family’s financial condition. Schools can redeem these vouchers twice—at admission and after half-yearly exams—to cover tuition fees.
Parent Vouchers are on fixed-value and can be used for books, uniforms, and travel expenses.
This structured approach ensures seamless financial support, enabling students to continue their education without financial burdens.
