RightWalk-UP government MoU

On February 16, 2021, a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed and exchanged between RightWalk Foundation and Uttar Pradesh government acting through Shri Kunal Silku (IAS), Mission Director, Skill Development Mission and Director, Training and Employment. The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Alok Kumar (IAS), Secretary to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Secretary, Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh.

The Apprenticeship implementation project is powered by LetzDream Foundation -- a grant making foundation working towards the upliftment of the underprivileged through granting assistance to innovative projects in the social development sector.

October 15, 2020, webinar:

The first major event organized on October 15, 2020 brought together all the main stakeholders on a common platform. The panel discussed ways to co-create solutions to implement the Apprenticeship Program

December 24, 2020, workshop:

At the workshop, officials from the Department of Training and Employment, ITI principals, Apprentices and LetzDream and RightWalk team members came together to discuss ways to implement the project.

March 10, 2021:

RightWalk got an opportunity to present the Apprenticeship scheme to the MSME department’s district officials from 75 districts over Zoom headed by Additional Chief Secretary Shri Navneet Sehgal. "In this financial year there is a goal of connecting 50,000 youths with employment and this goal will have to be achieved at all cost," said Navneet Sehgal, and added that instructions had been issued to district officials to register maximum number of youth for apprenticeship in their respective districts. March 17, 2021:

During the visit to Kanpur on March 17, the RWF team met with Shri Sarveshwar Shukla, Joint Commissioner, Directorate of Industries, Government of Uttar Pradesh and deliberated on manifesting The Apprenticeship Scheme in UP. We obtained valuable district-wise data on the MSMEs as well as his unrelenting support for the scheme. While in Kanpur, the RightWalk team also visited the District Magistrate of Kanpur, Shri Alok Tiwari.

March 26, 2021:

RightWalk organized an Apprenticeship workshop at Pandu Nagar ITI, Kanpur to deliberate on the various possibilities and opportunities of the Apprenticeship Scheme. At the event that was attended by principals from over 40 government and private ITIs, RightWalk got an opportunity to present the Apprenticeship Scheme registration process as well as the benefits of Dual System Training and On the Job Training. ITIs extended their support to RightWalk in student and establishment registration.
