Malala Day, birthday of global education ambassador Malala Yousufzai, was celebrated on 12 July, 2016 at the CM residence to commemorate historical success of section 12 (1) (c) RTE Act in Uttar Pradesh.
At the event Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, established similarity of work done by the youngest Nobel Laureate Yousufzai’s fight for girls’ education in Pakistan with that of RTE revolution in Indian education space.
UP government commitment plans towards ensuring inclusive and quality education to underprivileged children through Section 12 of RTE were briefed too. It included mass awareness campaigns and schools’ social inclusion annual plan for the subsequent admission cycle.
The event was organized by RightWalk Foundation in collaboration with UP Basic Education Department.
Understanding the need to train teachers, so that they can better manage a socially inclusive classroom, social inclusion workshops were conducted in 9 different districts of U.P. in collaboration with UNICEF and U.P. Govt.
